After being admitted to St. Thomas’ Hospital in London on Sunday evening (05.04.2020) on the advice of his doctor due to coronavirus related symptoms, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has been taken to the Intensive Care Unit as his condition ‘worsened’ according to Downing Street.
The 55 year old Prime Minister’s admission to hospital came 10 days after he tested positive for the coronavirus, with a persistent cough accompanied by a high temperature.

Earlier on Monday 6, it was reported that he was “comfortable” and in “good spirits”.
Reuters stated: “British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was in intensive care on Tuesday after receiving oxygen support for serious COVID-19 complications, leaving his foreign minister to lead the government’s response to the accelerating outbreak.”
A No10 Spokesman said that he was moved on the advice of his of his medical team and is receiving excellent care.
A statement by No10 read: “Since Sunday evening, the prime minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus.”
“Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital.”
It continued: “The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication.”
The PM has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is the First Secretary of State, to deputise for him where necessary.
