The new edition of The Bobby magazine, the official publication of the Royal Gibraltar Police, is now widely available throughout the Rock.

The latest edition contains an interview with Reuben Paul, the 12 year old cyber security whizz-kid and media sensation from Austin, Texas, who was the keynote speaker at the high profile RGP sponsored Cybersecurity Conference held in Gibraltar at the end of 2018.

Reuben’s presence at the prestigious event which attracted the participation of leading international cyber security experts from the FBI and Scotland Yard, underlines the RGPs forward looking commitment to modern policing trends, community interaction and advanced technology, a mindset which has evolved from the distinguished history and strong foundations of a police force steeped in rich tradition as the second oldest British police force in the world.

The Bobby includes an interview with the outgoing Assistant Commissioner Richard Mifsud reflecting on the organisational and societal changes he has witnessed over his 30 year career in the force, extended coverage of the Cyber Security conference 2018, a report on Project Servator, an intelligence led policing tactic to enhance security, plus a guest contribution from lawyer Michael Nahon on the geopolitical ramifications of cyber security.

The RGPs community charity involvements are also featured with the cyle ride from Faro in Portugal and the ‘Walk The Beat’ marathon to raise funds for the Gibraltar Cardiac Association.

This is the first edition to hit the stands since Ian McGrail was appointed new RGP commissioner in May 2018. Mr McGrail said: “The Bobby has become a useful platform to showcase some key aspects of the RGP and our aim now is to hopfeully produce more issues per year, to be able to publish the magazine more frequently than in the past.”

“The magazine is packed with articles of topical interest and offers an entertaining snapshot of the activities, projects and day to day law enforcement responsibilities of the police force. We are confident The Bobby will help the public to gain a better knowledge of the important work we do for the community.”
