The Government of Gibraltar is committed to sustainable growth

The massive arrival of cruise ships in Venice and some accidents have generated a great rejection on the part of the Italian city, who has taken to the streets to protest the pollution they generate and the destruction of the Venetian “skyline” at present.

In Gibraltar they are very clear about not wanting this type of tourism to overflow and the aim, therefore, is to enable sustainable growth.

“Tourism is a major contributor to the economy, so the general public welcomes cruise ship arrivals. In addition, we are currently limited to two large cruise ships at the port at the same time due to the mooring capacity, so Gibraltar is lucky not to face the problems of other destinations such as Venice,” the Government explained.
