The Junta de Andalucía last night announced a 2 phase de-escalation plan following a substantial decrease in Covid cases in the region. The first phase begins this Saturday 12th, and means that freedom of movement within each of the 8 provinces in the region will be allowed, shops can stay open until 9 PM and catering establishments until 6 PM. However, the 10 PM curfew remains, but with some exceptions.

The stringent measures implemented in a bid to control Covid-19 numbers in the region are seeing results according to the Junta de Andalucía, who say that it has brought respite to the healthcare system. Thus, the Junta announced this Thursday their 2 phase de-escalation plan which will begin this Saturday, 12th December.
During this first phase, mobility within provinces will be allowed, bringing an end to the district closures imposed some weeks ago, which is good news for Gibraltar residents too.

During this phase, movement will be allowed between Andalusian provinces, the catering sector will be allowed to open from morning to 6 PM and then reopen between 8 – 10:30 PM. The curfew will remain but will come into effect as from 11 PM – 6 AM.
